Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a government-funded program that provides three nutritious meals a day to children and adults in non-residential daycare facilities. In Mason Meals Inc.'s home city of Philadelphia, this program is administered at the federal level by the USDA, with oversight at the state level by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Division of Food and Nutrition.
Mason Meals Inc. is an acting "Sponsor" of the CACFP. It is our responsibility to assemble menus in accordance with the nutrition guidelines set forth by the USDA and provide those menu items to your daycare in proper portions. We are also responsible for maintaining all administrative documentation for program compliance. Eligible participants of the CACFP under Mason Meals Inc.'s sponsorship include:
All for-profit and non–profit centers are eligible to apply for this program providing that they meet the necessary requirements. Please see the "Sign Up" tab for more information on what we need to get your center started and receiving our meals! |
Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)The SFSP is also a federally-funded, state-administered program. The SFSP reimburses providers, like Mason Meals, who serve free healthy meals to children and teens 18-and-younger in low-income areas during the summer months when school is not in session.
Sites operating the SFSP are places in the community where children can receive meals in a safe and supervised environment. This may include schools, parks, community centers, health clinics, hospitals, apartment complexes, churches, and migrant centers. Sites under Mason Meals' sponsorship would work directly with us to receive their meals. |
